Combining Function and Comfort Just Got Better For Jacksonville
Chevrolet Drivers Who Drive The All New 2018 Chevrolet Trax
The 2018 Chevrolet Trax is a compact crossover that combines the utility of an SUV with the fuel economy you’d expect to see in a compact car. With a spacious interior and a long list of technology features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it’s easy to see why the Trax is a hit with drivers at the Jacksonville Chevrolet dealership. Its competitive pricing makes it particularly appealing to younger drivers.
There are a few new features for 2018. All trim levels get an updated MyLink infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen. The Premier now has standard lane-departure warning and forward-collision alert, while the LT trim gets a new option package called the Redline Edition.
The 2018 Chevy Trax has seating for five passengers and comes in LS, LT and Premier trim levels. All models get standard front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available. The Trax is powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter inline-four engine that develops 138 horsepower and 148 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the 2019 Trax is rated at EPA 25 mpg city/33 mpg highway for front-wheel-drive models and 24 mpg city/30 mpg highway for models with all-wheel drive.*
The automotive press holds the 2018 Chevrolet Trax in high esteem. Kelley Blue Book wrote: “With more interior room than the Mazda CX-3 and better fuel efficiency than the Jeep Renegade or Fiat 500X, the 2018 Chevrolet Trax hits the sweet spot for compact-crossover SUV shoppers."
The Trax gives you plenty of space to store cargo, with 19 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats in use. Fold the seats down and you’ll be treated to more than 48 cubic feet of space, enough room to store large items like sporting equipment or furniture.
Even the base LS trim has a nice feature list, including 16-inch steel wheels (alloy wheels on AWD models), a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, a rearview camera and two USB ports. Also standard is five years of the OnStar system, plus a three-month trial of OnStar’s advanced features, such as automatic crash response, turn-by-turn navigation and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
Optional features include a premium stereo system, heated faux-leather seats, a sunroof, remote-sensing keyless unlock with push-button start, rear cross-traffic alert, side blind-zone alert, forward-collision alert, rear parking sensors and lane-departure warning. The LT’s new Redline Edition package comes with black-out grille treatment, 18-inch black-finish wheels, black mirror caps, black beltline moldings and black bow-tie emblems.
Driving the 2018 Chevrolet Trax is a pleasant experience. Its spirited engine and small turning radius make it ideal for driving in urban areas or for long weekend drives. The comfortable and supportive seats will keep the driver and passengers relaxed, even on longer trips. Everyone will appreciate Chevy’s MyLink infotainment system. The Trax does an admirable job of isolating most road noise, so passengers will enjoy a quiet ride.
