Morehead City Chevrolet Drivers Get A First Look At The 2019 Chevy Cruze

The 2019 Chevrolet Cruze is an attractive, versatile and fuel-efficient compact car that’s now in its second-generation. The 2019 Cruze you'll find at the Morehead City area Chevrolet dealership, Team Swansboro, has benefitted from a mid-cycle refresh. The update is more than cosmetic, too. As well as revised styling which keeps the Cruze looking fabulously contemporary, the compact Chevy also gets some updated technology, and a decent amount of collision-avoidance technology has also been added.

According to the Morehead City area Chevy dealers, the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze is available in five different trim levels: L, LS, LT, Diesel and Premier. The Cruze is available in as a four-door sedan and a five-door hatchback. Buyers have a choice between a traditional gasoline gas engine and a diesel.

The standard powerplant under the hood of the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze is a 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbo producing 153 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. This engine features stop-start technology. Powering the Diesel trim is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel that puts out 137 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque, connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

EPA-estimated fuel economy for the Cruze with the 1.4-liter block is rated at an impressive 28 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway for sedans and 28/37 for hatchbacks.* The diesel returns 31/48 for sedans and 30/45 for hatchbacks.

Most Cruze models retail buyers will find on lots will be the LS trim and higher, but even the fleet-orientated Cruze L boasts an extensive list of standard features for an entry- level compact. Standard equipment includes remote keyless entry, the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System with a 7-inch diagonal color touchscreen, two USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, a rear vision camera, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Step up to the LT trim level and the Cruze gets standard LED running lights, a rear center armrest with cup holders, a rear USB port, and an upgraded six-speaker audio system with satellite radio.

You can also get more features through a couple of packages. An optional Driver Confidence package adds rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while the Convenience package (requires the Driver Confidence package) includes keyless ignition and entry, heated mirrors, heated front seats and a power-adjustable driver's seat.

The NHTSA gave the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze its highest score of five stars in overall crash testing. Automatic emergency braking is now a standard feature across the range, and a new Driver Confidence II package is available. It includes automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights and active lane control.

Teen driver technology is another excellent safety feature available with the 2019 Chevy Cruze. This intelligent system monitors the driving habits of a teen driver and lets you know how they're doing with updates and alerts. You're even able to have an influence through actions such as setting a speed alert or even a maximum volume limit on the car's audio system. The system also disables the sound system completely until those sitting in the front seats have buckled their seatbelts.
