Jacksonville Chevrolet Families Get a First Look At The 2019 Chevy Tahoe

Crossovers are great vehicles for many drivers. But you won’t get the same towing capacity with a crossover as you’ll get with a body-on-frame SUV. The 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe is based on the Silverado, so buyers get all the power that comes with a truck, allowing the Tahoe to tow as much as 8,400 pounds. According to the Jacksonville Chevrolet dealership, Tahoe drivers can tow a boat or a trailer with ease. And off-roaders love the Tahoe for its rock-crawling prowess. In addition to the utility the Tahoe provides, owners also appreciate its curb appeal. We think anyone looking for a full-size traditional SUV should take a close look at the 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe.

If you’ve been following the SUV market, you’ve probably noticed that automakers have been adorning their vehicles with chrome embellishments. The designers at Chevrolet have resisted the temptation to change what makes the Tahoe such an iconic vehicle, preferring to retain this three-row SUV’s classic, rugged looks. Inside, you’ll find a well-appointed interior that’s refined and sophisticated, with soft-touch materials used throughout the cabin.

The reviewers at Kelley Blue Book give the 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe high marks, writing: “If you want a big, bold, 3-row SUV that has power and capability in spades yet still features the latest technology and safety systems, the Chevrolet Tahoe brings the best of both worlds. It also offers variety in a larger and more powerful 6.2-liter V8 and a less expensive 2-row/5-passenger variant known as the Tahoe Custom.”

The 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe seats eight and comes in three trim levels: LS, LT and Premier. Two-wheel and four-wheel drive with low range are both on offer. The base LS trim has an optional 40/20/40-split middle-row bench seat that boosts the seating capacity to nine passengers. Powering the Tahoe is a 5.3-liter V8 engine that develops 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, teamed to a six-speed automatic transmission. This powerplant features Active Cylinder Management, which increases fuel efficiency by shutting off half the engine’s cylinders when the vehicle is cruising.

The LT and Premier trims are eligible for the RST Performance Edition, a package that includes a 6.2-liter V8 engine that generates a mighty 420 hp and 460 lb.-ft of torque, connected to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. This package also comes with a trailer brake controller, a special sport-tuned suspension and a two-speed transfer case (on four-wheel-drive models).

Standard features include cloth seats, automatic climate control with three zones, cruise control, rear parking sensors, keyless entry, a rearview camera, Bluetooth, the MyLink infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker stereo system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Parents will appreciate the standard Teen Driver system, which keeps them informed about how younger drivers have been using the SUV. Teen Driver also allows parents to place limits on the vehicle’s Tahoe’s top speed and the volume of the stereo system.

Safety features that come standard include anti-lock brakes, stability control, a full complement of airbags and OnStar. Options include Forward Collision Alert, a Blind Spot Alert, Low-Speed Forward Automatic Braking, Lane Keep Assist and a Safety Alert Seat.
