After exploring the 2026 Chevy Traverse by trim, we thought we’d seen it all from the midsize crossover SUV.

Well, for the time being, at least.

However, as the summer season nears its unfortunate end and kids are gearing up to go back to school, Chevy saw fit to end the summer on a high note. Cue the release of the new 2027 Chevrolet Traverse.

Let’s Talk Cargo Space and Interior Tech

The 2027 Traverse is, at the end of the day, an SUV. While it won’t necessarily wow you with sporty acceleration like the Corvette or show its towing prowess like the Silverado HD, it’s the blueprint for cargo space and comfort.

With all the seats folded down, the Traverse delivers a best-in-class cargo space of 98 cubic feet, perfect for the after-school carpool, weekend getaways, or the home DIY projects you put off all summer (we’re not here to judge)!

As for interior tech and comfort, the Traverse understands the assignment.

Heated seats come standard, with cooling and leather materials available on higher trims. You’ll feel fully immersed in the modern world with the 17.7-inch infotainment screen and 11-inch driver information center, plus wireless phone charging and second-row USB ports.

The Traverse seats up to 8, depending on whether you choose captain’s chairs or a bench seat in the second row. However, the real star of this SUV is the third row.

While most third rows can leave even kids feeling cramped, the 2027 Traverse tells a different story. Offering decent legroom and a high-positioned seat bottom, the third row offers next-level space and comfort that even adults won’t mind being in the back seat.

We can’t talk about the inside of the Traverse without referencing the eye-catching exterior. The truck-inspired design is demanding, offering a bold stance and powerful proportions that command the cul-de-sac.

The Traverse offers Midnight and Sport Editions on the LT trim, plus a panoramic sunroof and two new paint colors to make your ride truly unique.

Safety Takes Center Stage

When it comes to family, nothing is more important than safety and security features. The new 2027 Traverse is equipped with over 20 standard safety and driver-assistance features, ensuring your most precious cargo stays safe on the road ahead.

Standard features will include adaptive cruise control, side bicyclist alert, and reverse automatic braking, the latter of which alerts you and automatically provides emergency braking to help avoid collisions with objects or vehicles directly behind you when you’re in reverse.

Optional safety and driver assistance features include the new Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology, which uses real-time cameras, sensors, GPS, and LiDAR map data to allow you to take your hands off the wheel and let your Traverse do the driving, under the right conditions, of course.
